Hello from the oelheld UK team!

We are a tight knit team here at oelheld UK and work hard to make sure we are offering the best service to our customers. A family run business, we are proud of our team, many of whom have been with us for many years now. Put a face to a name, find the right person to contact, or simply get to know us all a little better below…

Since starting out as a toolmaker on the shop floor, Colin has spent his career in the EDM and tool grinding industries, working for many of the leading organisations and playing a key role in a number of successful projects and ventures. Early on, he developed a keen interest in electronics which he developed through night school and self study, subsequently progressing to work as an EDM service engineer. As his knowledge of electronics and experience with EDM machinery grew he began to explore new machine designs which led to the development of one of the very earliest digital EDM pulse generators. In 1998, having already supplied Oelheld products to the UK market for a number of years and having first hand knowledge of their quality, Colin decided, together with Dr Storr (then MD of oelheld GmBH), to establish Oelheld UK Ltd, the first oelheld subsidiary. Since then, Colin has expanded oelheld UK's customer base, product range and capabilities to include the supply of consumable products, oil filtration, and mist extraction systems. To this day Colin has retained his love of tech and as well as our Chairman, he is our own in-house gadget man who loves getting his hands on the latest technology!

Sue originally started a secretarial career by training in speed-typing and shorthand note taking at Pitman's London. In 1998 she co-founded oelheld UK and in the early days of the company it was Sue who managed the office and growing the business back at oelheld UK headquarters while Colin was out on the road. Sue still acts as Company Secretary and even likes to use her old typewriter, which lives here in the office, from time to time (she can still achieve an impressive rate of words per minute!). As a keen gardener, Sue likes to spend time in the garden and taking trips to explore the UK countryside.

Pete has nearly 30 years experience working in the EDM and tool grinding industries. Still an engineer at heart, he enjoys the fact that his role still regularly takes him to client sites where he gets to spend time on the shop floor. Pete is a proud Aston Villa supporter, loves the idea of being a pilot (although hates to fly!), and likes to get stuck into DIY projects when he has free time.

Chris has been with us at oelheld for over 10 years now, managing the design and installation of our oil filtration and oil mist extraction systems. Chris has been instrumental in the development and delivery of our service contract offering, in response to client requests for a contract to give them peace of mind that they are covered for both routine maintenance and should a call out be required. As a result, Chris is a well known face at our clients’ sites and is considered part of the team by a number of our customers.

Sue takes care of the accounts here at oelheld, handling all financial matters and payments. During the many years she has been with us, Sue has acquired a number of extra 'duties' including office DJ, keeping the office supplied with the greatest hits, and also translator - with a number of staff hailing from Birmingham and the West Midlands, we often need an explanation of words such as 'yampy' and 'pikelets'!
